Social Learning Theory allows us to learn based from our role models, observation, society or community around us. Learning from this theory needs our focus or attention to our educators or a person who had a big impact to our lives.
As educator, what we taught to our students, retains to their memory. And we play a bigger role to their lives. Thats why most pre-schoolers says “Sabi ni teacher ganito raw dapat…” Because what we taught retains to them.
Being a role model to our students placed a responsibility to us as educator. Our student sees us as a strong influence to their lives. And as educator, we should be a good role model to them. We should practice what we preach or taught to them. There is a saying from an old commercial “Sa Mata ng Bata and Lahat ay tama” What our students observe in us is correct, and they imitate it. Same thing with Wrestling show, before the program starts, they show a warning to the viewers “Don’t try this at home” So that children will not exhibit wrestling actions to their playmates because accident might happen, only professional wrestlers can do it.
